Learn More About Dr. ClaneyDr. Claney specializes in anxious and neurodivergent men going through career transitions who are processing their identity and values. Her second specialty is entrepreneurial female business owners who feel burnt out on doing it all.
It's possible you've accomplished what you set out to do in your early 20's and yet you're still not happy or at rest with where your life is at. Maybe you know it's time to take a step back, but the overwhelm of doing so while keeping all the things afloat is overwhelming. Dr. Claney wants to empower you to design a life that is aligned with you while holding space for the deep stuff - the stress, the identity crisis, the trauma, the ADHD, the emotional dysregulation. She can help you experience tangible change that is informed from knowing yourself and challenging yourself towards growth at a reasonable and integrated pace.
Her approach is informed by depth-oriented approaches (attachment theory, psychodynamic/psychoanalytic, object relations) and advanced training in executive coaching. This combination guides process-based change that actually lasts. She is emotion-focused and is attentive to helping you connect your brain and your body together.
Dr. Claney does not rush you or make recommendations that you’re not ready for. You’ll take a significant amount of time exploring, learning, articulating, feeling, and experiencing before knowing what to do. She’ll be a thought partner with you that seeks to challenge you while balancing the things that feel hard to access (self-compassion, attunement, communicating your needs). In therapy & coaching, Dr. Claney prioritizes the relationship over techniques or tools because she believes we are relational to our core and many difficulties we experience need to be worked through within the context of a relationship.
It’s not too late and it’s not too early and you’re not too privileged and you’re not too damaged for this kind of work. Trust that you can be ready to start exactly where you’re at and she will start there too.
Because Dr. Claney believes she can only take a client as far as she has gone herself, she remains active in her own personal therapy, consultation, training, and supervision. She has personal experience with being the high-achieving, successful professional who gets derailed by life (e.g., breast cancer) and is in a season of actively designing a life that’s worth living.
